2.8 Evacuation Policy

Fire Safety

In the event of a fire a continuous bell will be heard. Staff must check their designated areas:

Lianne: Garden

Robina: Toilets

Peace: Main Room

Managers are responsible for taking specific items:

Lianne: Evacuation Bag & Register

Peace: Preschool Phone

All children should be evacuated as quickly and calmly as possible. A practice fire drill will be held every three months. 

o   Do not take any personal possessions with you

o   Ensure you have all of the children by counting heads before you leave the premises

The meeting place in the event of a fire: Preschool Carpark 

If the building can’t be re-entered then the children must be taken to the family centre, failing that, the church

It is Lianne Maltman’s responsibility to ensure that the evacuation bag is stocked with a first aid kit, water, crackers and a blanket. 

Fire drills, and any evacuations, are recorded on our online system.
